The Iraqi dead

According to the medical journal The Lancet  650,000 people have been killed in Iraq since the war began.  When this figure was queried, attacked, disbelieved, particularly by the Bush Administration and fellow-travelers, The Lancet apparently went back to the drawing board, did its sums again, and concluded that they were wrong:  the original figure was too conservative.

There were over 3000 people killed on 9/11.

  1. Even the Pentagon says there was no connection betwen Saddam Hussein and Al Queda, yet Cheney still intones the same old lies about it. Were I not an Epicurean, which means detaching oneself as much as possible from politics, I would be asking when that man was going to be impeached.
