The human need for Religion, Part2

Maybe it took less mental effort than Altran realized to hold belief in God in one’s mind.  Maybe, in fact, belief was a default position for the human mind, something that took no cognitive effort at all.

  1. Maybe religious belief is a little like autism, that is, there are many degrees of intensity of belief, from outright denial at one end to unquestioning fanaticism at the other. So far they haven’t found as cure for it, but there is time.
