The big news from Britain is that Rupert Murdoch has hinted that he is considering stopping the printing of photographs of topless women in his “newspaper” the Sun.
Some say “better late than never”. Others say that the Sun and the other opinion sheets have done their job. Murdoch, notorious for hating the British (the feeling is wholly mutual), avenged his Aussie insecurity by ensuring that the British were kept ignorant of any real news, by supporting any politicians that did what they were told, and by pandering to the lowest common denominator. However, he did employ a lot of people. Many of them are now in gaol. Unfortunately, that does not include him. He is untouchable. But that is modern “democracy”. In any event, the damage is done, topless girls and all, and the “culture” has been utterly trashed. Thanks.
Epicureans, were they in positions of power, would do better than have the Murdochs of the world around them. Mind you, anyone would.
It is against US law to bribe officials in other countries. Murdoch did just that in the UK. Only the minor players paid a penalty. To jail with Murdoch and the corrupt hierarchy of his company! He should be deported like any other law breaker and hid US citizenship revoked.
