Well, isn’t that just too doggarn bad! We cannot retire when faced with unreasonable bullies. I really don’t care whether Epicureans are regarded as ugly-looking. The problem is that you can’t do business with immoderates, because they are always right. Avoid them if you have to deal with them quietly stand your ground and don’t lose your temper.

This means, as I have learned, that conversation is impossible. I think that’s what you meant by “can’t do business,” but the impossibility of actually conversing across differences with friends or family is an extremely sad state of affairs in life.
