It goes on and on

Recently released documents have suggested that Timothy Dolan, America’s most senior Catholic official and cardinal for the archdiocese of New York, sought to shield church money from the victims of paedophile priests while working as archbishop of Milwaukee in the early 2000s. As sex abuse claims mounted up, Dolan asked the Vatican for permission to transfer $57m into a trust for the upkeep of cemeteries, to protect it “from any legal claim and liability”. He denies he was trying to hide the money from abuse claims.

Hopefully, the new Pope will have some success in restoring the Catholic church to being a religious organisation, and not a business that hides up sexual deviation as a sideline. Epicureans want to get on with everyone. There is no pleasure to be gained by griping at religious organisations. Epicureans don’t believe their dogma, but support their efforts to help the poor, cure the sick and give moral support to the faint hearted. Concentrate on that!
