How to live, by Philodemus

“It is impossible to live pleasurably without living prudently, honorably and justly.  Nor can you live pleasurably without living courageously, temperately, magnanimously and philanthropically, and without making friends. (Philodemus, a follower of Epicurus)”.

In other words, among other things, you should keep your word, avoid extremes, see that credit is given where it is due,  seek justice where you think injustice has been done , and respect others, especially the old.
