The number of births to women aged between 40 and 49 has risen by 16%, from 22,200 to 25,600, in the past five years. In London, women over 40 are giving birth at twice the rate of teenagers.(telegraph/HSCIC).

Do these women know what they are doing?  Towards the end of their fifties their children will be teenagers.  It is hard enough coping with age group when you are forty.  We all know the reasons why women are having children later in life, but many will pay in terms of anxiety, frustration and  peace of mind.  Epicurus thought peace of mind one of the most important things in life.

Oh, well.  Younger people have never listened to the wisdom of their elders, so why would they start now?
