Live simply and prudently, with self-control and moderation. Seek simple pleasures, those that satisfy natural and necessary desires, chief of which are food, drink, clothing, shelter, friendship and love.

  1. This simple statement needs reiterating regularly. There are no political or economic overtones, just common sense. Of course, it isn’t always easy to carry out, given the consumerist pressures we all endure.
