Corinthians Chapter 14, 34-35
34. Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
35. And if they will learn anything let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church
To be fair, it is almost certain that Paul did not write this rot. It was added several decades later, when the new priesthood was trying to get the women back into the kitchen.
How can you take this control mania as being anything to do with religion? The priests should hide their heads in shame.
Unfortunately, the extreme right is still trying to get women back into the kitchen. If you highly educate a young girl you cannot but expect that she will want to use her knowledge.
