Music festivals used to be all about the music. Not any more. A poll has found that only 45% of festival-goers are in it for the music – the rest are lured by the atmosphere, and the chance to “escape from everyday life”. The survey, by MSN, also found that 25% had slept with a stranger at a festival, 21% taken drugs, and 13% got into a fight.
Welcome to the 21st Century! Of course, it could be that much of the music is un- listenable to and that the attendees adopt the sensible, Epicurean, view: make love, preferably with ear plugs in your ears.
