Getting poorer?

A Pew poll last year found that only 34% of Americans expected today’s children to be better off than people are now, down from 55% eight years ago. And only 21% believe the country is on the right track, compared with twice that figure in 2004. The US is in pessimistic mood. Not good for peace of mind. All the more reason to find joy in a garden or an absorbing pastime, and stop chasing money.

  1. If we could get some genuine brains into government people might have a better morale. But the propaganda has for so many years disparaged government service that now there are too many corrupt clowns in the government service. Which is, of course, a self-fulfilling prophesy. Trash the workers and the rest avoid the work.
