Groups of Epicureans are popping up all over the place. The latest is the Ocean County Society of Friends of Epicurus, run by Mark Cubbedge. This is how he announces the Society; it is very well explained:
We are Epicurean. We are a free and cheerful society of friends. We do not fear gods and we do not fear death. With nature as our guide we proclaim that what is good is easy to obtain and what is bad is easy to endure. As we consider the brevity of life we choose to embrace each day through the prudent pursuit of happiness and liberty. Our chosen path is: to value a contemplative lifestyle seeing that wisdom and contentment are inseparable; to cultivate deep and meaningful friendships; and to work towards and achieve self-sufficiency. Our highest goal is to master our desires and attain tranquility in mind and body. To this end we joyfully study the philosophy and maxims of Epicurus together.
