In the Uk 38% of parents believe their sons’ financial future is dependent on them finding a wealthy wife, but only 32% think their daughters need a rich husband. (Scottish Widows/The Daily Telegraph).
That’s because women are soon going to run the world, while men watch sport on TV or natter down the pub. Most of the top academic awards, the PhDs and so on, are going to women, because women work harder and try harder. Good luck to them. Some of them are smarter than men, so it is said.
I have never understood why men want to run everything in any case. They are better suited to pontificate about world issues, sports results and sex, while spending their free time on video games. If women want to run the world then let them. It could have the beneficial effect of evening off the disparate longevities of the sexes, and allowing those enlightened men who believe in peace and a quiet life to find ataraxia.
A turnaround indeed. Try telling that to many of the world’s cultures who still oppress women. Such women are covered from head to foot (“It doesnt protect you from rape”, said one woman in Egypt); They are not allowed out unless accompanied by a male relative; or to drive a car; they are not allowed to work except of course, as a servant in her own home; and most of all they are not allowed to be educated.
I just wonder if , in fact, the men in these cultures are only too aware of how intelligent and capable these women are.
And are running scared.
