A rising tide raises all boats?

"The salaries of CEOs have jumped, as pay for workers has remained relatively static, or has even declined ….since 1990 the overall CEO-worker pay gap has worsened  considerably.  The salary of minimum-wage workers has declined  after adjustment for inflation by 9 per cent in the last 15 years.”  *

Epicureans, using that uncommon thing common sense, would suggest that this is not a healthy development.  The American colonists, when they rebelled against the British, were also rebelling against  the whole idea of  hereditary aristocracy.

  1. The generation currently in charge is busy re-establishing an aristocracy of wealth and, by excusing them effectively from having to pay any kind of tax that means anything, creating an hereditary class. Dumb? Yes. Assists ataraxia? No. Long term dangerous for social cohesion? Also yes.
