In the US studies show that 2- 4% of death row prison inmates are probably innocent.  DNA science is now helping to free some of the innocent.   Death by lethal injection is a barbarous business: organs collapsing, the brain shutting down, and extreme pain.  Even in America the use of the death penalty is receding, but it is still alive and well in some States.

Epicureanism stands for peace of mind. How can you have peace of mind when you know that innocent people are threatened with a death like this, just so that the police can boost their list of “solved” crimes?

Ban the death penalty!  It deters nothing, but marks the executioners as medieval.
