Good news for chocaholics

Cadbury the chocolate manufacturer, has found a way to make chocolate that doesn’t melt in hot weather. While standard chocolate starts to melt at 93°F, the new Dairy Milk bars – destined for export – remain solid even in temperatures of 104°F.

This news is good for everyone who enjoys the outdoors and has had the depressing experience of liquid chocolate covering the  inside of a backpack on a hot day.  This is seldom a problem in England, because hot days are few (as in one in three years).  But in the US the temperatures reached over 103 degrees fahrenheit in recent summers, and humans melt as quickly as chocolate.
What, you ask has this got to do with Epicureanism?  Well, Epicurus meant us to take pleasure in life , and chocolate is a  pleasure.  He would have been the first to buy a bar of the new, Polish made, heat-resistant choccy as he strolled round the garden discussing the meaning of life.  Life cannot all be so damn serious, can it?
